Brief Bio

^_____^    Dr. Yu is doing his 4th-year postdoc in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (DChBE) at the National University of Singapore (NUS). His research interests focus on the fields of Energy storage & Conversions (i.e., water splitting catalysts, CO2 reduction catalysts, lithium-ion batteries, and supercapacitors, fuel cells). He received his Ph.D. degree in the Department of Material Sciences and Engineering (DMSE) from NUS in 2019, and his Bachelor's degree with honors in the same department in 2015.

^_____^    Dr. Yu has in-depth theoretical knowledge and practical experiences in versatile materials characterization techniques (i.e., structural aspects, physical aspects, electrochemical aspects, and analytical chemistry). In addition, he has strong competency in fabricating functional materials of different scales (i.e., a single atom, nano-, and micro-) with tailored properties for targeted applications. These multi-dimensional expertises empower him to build structure-property correlations and resolve scientific and engineering problems efficiently.

^_____^    Meaningfully, Dr. Yu assisted two professors to build up their NRF-funded laboratories in NUS during his Postdoc (i.e., STEM Preparation Laboratory &  Advanced CO2 Electrochemistry Lab), laying down the framework for future research projects. As a senior, he also co-supervises a few Master and Ph.D. students in their projects and provides down-to-earn guidance in their experiments.
